Description

A flat tire is one of the most common issues that can cut an off-road trip short. Because sharp rocks, thorns, and trail debris are common on technical routes, carrying a reliable tire repair system is essential. The OZ ARMOUR Tire Repair Plugs provide a high-grade, sticky vulcanizing string solution designed specifically to seal punctures on tubeless off-road tires. This bulk package includes 10 individual 20-packs (giving you a total of 200 heavy-duty repair plugs), ensuring your garage, support vehicle, or trail pack is fully stocked for multiple seasons.

These tire repair plugs are the official replacement refills designed to work with the compact OZ ARMOUR Air Plugger Tyre Repair Kit. The vulcanizing rubber composition chemically bonds with your tire’s tread compound under friction heat, sealing air leaks instantly. This emergency fix targets your ATV’s drive train and wheel systems, allowing you to patch a puncture directly on the trail without removing the wheel or utilizing specialty shop machinery.

Key Features

  • Bulk 200-Plug Supply: Contains 10 boxes, each containing 20 high-tack repair plugs (divided into 4 convenient sheets of 5 plugs per pack).

  • Active Vulcanizing Compound: The sticky rubber material reacts with raw rubber inside your tires, forming a tight, air-tight chemical bond under rolling heat.

  • Optimized for Off-Road Tubeless Tires: Engineered to handle the thick, multi-ply tread designs of ATV, UTV, SxS, and dirt bike tires.

  • Air Plugger System Compatible: Designed to fit the insertion needles of the compact OZ ARMOUR Air Plugger tool.

  • Flexible and Adaptable: Pliable strings compress and mold to the exact shape of irregular puncture holes caused by nails, thorns, or jagged rocks.

  • Long-Lasting Shelf Life: Packed in protective, air-sealed sheets that prevent the sticky vulcanizing agent from drying out during storage.

  • No Adhesive Cement Needed: Highly adhesive sticky compound provides a reliable seal without requiring messy tubes of glue or rubber cement.

  • Tear-Resistant Core Fibers: Reinforced with multi-strand high-tensile inner fibers that prevent the plug from snapping or shearing under trail pressure.

  • Weatherproof Performance: Formulated to withstand sub-zero winter temperatures as well as extreme desert trail heat.

  • Compact Storage Profile: Individual sheets lay flat in your tool roll, under-seat storage box, or fender bag without taking up valuable cargo space.

Benefits

Instant Trailside Recovery

A flat tire on a remote trail can turn into a serious survival situation. Carrying these tire repair plugs allows you to seal punctures in under five minutes. You do not have to wait for a recovery vehicle or attempt to limp home on a damaged wheel rim.

Reliable Long-Term Seals

Unlike standard, cheap automotive string plugs that dry out and leak over time, these vulcanizing plugs adapt to the flexing of low-pressure off-road tires. They hold up under aggressive cornering and high-torque climbing without blowing out.

Exceptional Value

Buying your tire repair plugs in this 10x 20-pack bulk configuration lowers your cost per plug. This is an ideal solution for tour operators, rental fleets, riding clubs, or off-road racers who frequently patch tires in support pits.

Vehicle Compatibility

These tire repair plugs are compatible with all standard tubeless off-road tires. They are suitable for all model years from major ATV and UTV manufacturers, including:

  • Polaris: Sportsman, Scrambler, Ranger, RZR, General (All engine displacements)

  • Can-Am: Outlander, Renegade, Commander, Maverick Trail/Sport/X3

  • Yamaha: Grizzly, Kodiak, Raptor, YFZ450R, Rhino, Viking, Wolverine

  • Honda: Rancher, Foreman, Rubicon, Rincon, TRX, Pioneer, Talon

  • Suzuki: KingQuad 400, 500, 750, Ozark, QuadSport

  • Kawasaki: Brute Force, KFX, Teryx, Mule

Installation Guide

To ensure a permanent, leak-free seal, follow these simple trailside steps:

Tools Required:

  • OZ ARMOUR Air Plugger or T-handle reamer and needle insertion tool

  • Pliers (to extract the puncturing object)

  • Knife or blade (to trim the excess plug)

1.Identify and Remove Obstruction:Clear the puncture.

Locate the leak using soapy water or listening for escaping air. Use pliers to pull out the nail, thorn, or sharp rock that caused the puncture.

2.Ream the Puncture:Prepare the hole.

Insert your tire reamer tool into the hole at the angle of the puncture. Slide it up and down a few times to clean out debris and roughen the inner rubber walls.

3.Thread the Repair Plug:Load the needle.

Peel one OZ ARMOUR plug from the backing sheet. Thread it through the eyelet of your insertion needle until it is centered.

4.Insert the Plug:Firm, straight push.

Push the needle with the threaded plug directly into the puncture. Leave roughly 1/2 inch of the plug ends sticking out above the tire tread.

5.Extract the Tool:Do not twist.

Pull the insertion tool straight out of the tire with a quick, firm motion. The split eyelet needle will slide out, leaving the sticky plug inside the hole.

6.Trim and Check:Trim and inflate.

Carefully trim the excess plug flush with the tire tread using a knife or side-cutters. Re-inflate your tire using a CO2 inflator or portable 12V pump, then check for leaks.

Signs This Part Needs Replacement

Unlike hard parts, tire repair plugs are single-use consumables. However, you will know you need to pull a fresh sheet from your OZ ARMOUR refill packs if you notice:

  • Drying Out: If your stored plugs are exposed to direct sunlight, open air, or extreme dust for too long, they will lose their stickiness and will not vulcanize.

  • Repeated Leaks at Puncture Site: If a plugged trail puncture continues to slow-leak air, the original plug may have sheared or shifted, requiring you to ream the hole and insert a fresh double-plug.

  • Package Seal Damage: If the protective foil or plastic sheets are torn in your toolkit, dirt and grit can coat the plugs, compromising their adhesive quality.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use these plugs on high-speed highway car tires?

These plugs are designed as a temporary, emergency repair to get you home or to a service station. While highly reliable for low-pressure off-road ATV/UTV tires, highway vehicles should have punctured tires inspected and patched from the inside by a certified tire professional.

Do these plugs require rubber cement glue to work?

No. OZ ARMOUR plugs are pre-coated in an aggressive, high-tack vulcanizing compound that seals on contact. However, applying rubber cement during reaming can act as a lubricant and enhance the seal on older, weathered tires.

How many plugs can I use in a single tire?

For small punctures, one plug is sufficient. For larger, jagged tears (like those from sharp shale rock), you can insert two plugs side-by-side. If the hole is larger than two plugs, the tire’s structural casing is likely compromised and needs professional repair or replacement.

Will these plugs fix sidewall punctures?

Plugging a sidewall puncture is generally not recommended as an ongoing fix because of the high flex and structural stress on the tire’s shoulder. A sidewall plug should only be used as a slow-speed, emergency measure to crawl back to camp or a main road.

What is the shelf life of these refill sheets?

When kept in their sealed, original packaging and stored in a cool, dry place out of direct UV sunlight, these plugs can remain fresh and fully adhesive for several years.

Can these plugs be used with standard T-handle insertion tools?

Yes. While optimized for the OZ ARMOUR Air Plugger, these are standard-sized string plugs that work with almost all off-road tire repair insertion needles.

Do I need to remove the wheel from my quad to use these?

No. That is the biggest benefit of this system. As long as you can access the tread where the leak is located, you can plug the tire while it remains bolted to your ATV’s suspension and drive hub.

How long do I have to wait after inserting a plug before riding?

You do not need to wait. Once the plug is inserted, trimmed, and the tire is re-inflated, you can ride immediately. The friction heat generated from rolling will help the vulcanization process cure the seal.
